Σιμαίας, ου, ὁ (שְׁמַעְיָה. The name is freq. in the OT, but the LXX always renders it differently from 2 Ti, even though the LXX does not always spell it in the same way; Schürer II 363, 25) Simaias, named in 2 Ti 4:19 v.l. as a son of Aquila.
